NC Crunch Day

Here in NC we are celebrating NC Crunch Day on Oct.19. We plan to do STEAM activities with apples – build a tower to hold an apple, build a basket, coloring pages – and hopefully enjoy some apple nachos afterwards.

Building challenges are excellent for developing spatial reasoning and engineering skills. Kids learn through trial and error – kind of like mastering levels in Geometry Dash where you fail, adjust, and try again until you succeed. That’s real-world problem-solving!

The basket-building activity especially sounds engaging. Do you use specific materials or let kids choose their own approach?

Enjoy the apple nachos – sounds like the perfect reward after all that STEAM learning!

That sounds like such a fun and tasty way to celebrate NC Crunch Day! STEAM activities with apples are a great way to combine creativity, engineering, and a bit of healthy snacking — apple nachos sound delicious too! This is such a great initiative — combining community, libraries and STEAM learning makes education more fun and accessible. It’s awesome to see events like NC Crunch Day bringing people together and promoting curiosity and healthy habits through libraries. Wacky Flip
